Sodium benzoate is a preservative produced from benzoic acid, which occurs naturally in certain berries. Sodium benzoate itself is produced synthetically. In Djusie products, it is present as a preservative in the shiitake mushroom and cantaloupe melon extracts and is not used as the primary preservative in the finished formulations.
