Polyglyceryl-2 stearate is an emulsifying agent, meaning that it enables oil and water to mix. The number after the word ‘polyglyceryl’ indicates the average number of glycerine units in the compound. Polyglyceryl-2 stearate is also a surface-active substance with cleansing properties and is therefore suitable for use in cleaning agents.
